Two-way-prepositions

In German: Wechselpräpositionen

Wechselpräpositionen are difficult, but easy. You will see.

We are talking about local prepositions that can be accusative OR dative, depending on how you use them. See the picture on the right side.

But when do we use it?

When we have a movement from A to B –> accusative

Wir gehen in den Park. We go to the park.

When we have a static situation –> dative

Wir spielen im Park. We are playing in the park.

THIS. IS. IT.

Some things to consider:

Some statements can have both, accusative or dative. The meaning changes a little bit.

Ich laufe in den Park. I walk into the park. (I was not there before.)

Ich laufe im Park. I am walking /jogging (with)in the park.

After watching my vidos you will understand Wechselpräpositionen faster than in any evening course in the Volkshochschule. Just check them out!
